Terms of Service

1. Overview

Animater is a desktop app for turning your real product into short, cinematic videos. You connect the AI coding agent you already use — like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor — and it drives Animater right on your own machine. By downloading or using Animater, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. The Desktop App & License

Animater is distributed as a desktop application you download and install. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app for as long as your subscription is active. The app updates itself automatically so you always have the latest version. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly permits.

3. Your AI Agent (Bring Your Own)

Animater doesn't include or resell an AI model. Instead, it connects to a coding agent you already have — such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor — running under your own account on your own machine. You're responsible for that agent, including your account with its provider, any usage or API costs it incurs, and complying with that provider's terms. Animater isn't responsible for your agent's output, availability, or fees, and we never see or store your agent's API keys.

4. Your Account

You need an account to use Animater. When you create one, provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account. One account per person — don't share accounts or create multiple accounts.

5. Subscription & Billing

Animater is a paid subscription with monthly credits you use to create and export videos. You can be billed monthly or annually; your subscription automatically renews each period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal in your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We may adjust pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes apply at the start of your next billing cycle.

6. 7-Day Free Trial

All paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you'll pay nothing. After the trial converts to a paid subscription, charges are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time from your account to stop future charges — access continues until the end of your current billing period.

7. Your Content

You own the animations you create with Animater. We don't claim ownership of your content. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you. Anything you send to your own AI agent is handled by that agent's provider under your account — see our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Acceptable Use

When using Animater, you agree not to:

• Use the service for anything illegal
• Create content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or copy the app or platform
• Interfere with the service's operation or other users' access
• Resell or redistribute the service without permission

9. Service Availability

We work to keep Animater available and reliable, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance or updates. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

Animater is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for the acts, output, availability, or charges of any third-party AI agent you connect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the service or by email. Your continued use of Animater after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
